Lockdown diary By Leo age 7 First my sister Orla had a high temperature and was sent home from nursery so we all had to isolate for two weeks. At day 4 of our isolation, lockdown happened and all the schools shut as well as lots of shops and the cinema. At first I was happy to have a break from school but then I was sad missing my friends and started to feel a bit bored. We had a new routine when we had to do our schoolwork at home. It was a bit hard because I have a brother and 2 sisters so everyone was trying to get on the computer and our printer kept running out of ink! My dad is a policeman so he had to keep going to work and my mum tried to keep working from home but had to do lots of work when we were all asleep. I liked lockdown because I got to spend more time on my Nintendo when I had finished my work and it was also good to be with my family but I did miss my friends from school and felt bored quite a lot. Lockdown made me feel sad that people died and worried that people I know might catch it. My lockdown survival kit would be: • Loads of chocolate and baked beans • Lots of toilet roll • My Switch, so I don't get bored! • A phone to speak to my friends and family. When lockdown is over I am looking forward to going back to school and seeing all of my friends and teachers and playing in the playground at lunch and breaktimes. I want to see my grandad too because I haven't seen him since March because he is shielding. The end
