CORO 20 It's the lockdown COVID 19 is on the prowl Everyone is home all day Except for one hour to walk or play outside People in face masks wherever you go That tiny mask stops most of the deadly virus No school, no shops, no travel, no museums or hotels or galleries No hairdressers or barbers, no pubs or cafes, no swimming, no gym But Captain Tom has made us all proud A hundred laps up and down his garden path. But no chance to hug your granny We must all stay in our own little bubble Sanitise our hands and all we touch Scramble for bread, butter and toilet roll... Rationing on supermarket aisles Oh what a change to behold Social media keeps us all entranced School, Church, Meetings and music lessons All happen on Zoom, Teams, Facetime or What's App All of us have square eyes and fatigue Staring at screens to keep in touch Social distancing is at an all time high Greet with elbows, feet or waves Wash hands more often to keep at bay The evil Coro wrecking disaster around Two metres away, do more but no less Help the NHS, Stay Home Save Lives Four long months... then the easing At last we can go out and hug and meet But have your masks and visors ready Like aliens from another planet away.
